1./ The woobification of the men. They're Goddamn paratroopers, not woobie boys. Stop making them woobies! RAWR.
2./ Foxhole sex. Especially, LOUD foxhole sex. Especially in Bastogne. Seriously. If it's fucking freezing out, I am not dropping drawers for sex. If I do have sex in some foxhole somewhere, I am also going to be pretty damn quiet so the guy in the foxhole next to me doesn't investigate, catch me and my lover, and get both our asses court-martialed. Not my idea of a fun time. (Plus, it's way cliche, ne?)
3./ The fact that there is a lot more focus on romance than on the fact that there's a war going on. Admittedly, I am also guilty of this. *shrug* I am aware of this, and honestly just prefer to write about things before Normandy. I dislike writing battles. Would rather not write about what goes on between skirmishes. I prefer writing about pre-war, training, and all that hopeful optimism of "Maybe those other companies will be decimated, but we're the INVINCIBLE company". However, I do feel that a lot of fic set while the war is still going strong and E Co is in the thick of things does tend to ignore that, while the guys are making out behind the CP, there's some Nazis out there (maybe not even half a mile away) who want to fuck Easy's shit up.
(You did name a few of my pet peeves already, and I wanted to be a little original)
